dunananah dunananah california! (cue oc theme song)

spending a few days in claremont, california which is a really nice suburb of la. just love la traffic. makes my atlanta traffic not so bad. everything “freeway” is either 05 or 10, though which i don’t think makes for easy navigation if you’re not a local. i’m not such a big fan of la but claremont is really beautiful. close to the mountains and it feels like you’ve been time warped back to the 50’s.

pretty excited because i’m staying off the infamous route 66. quite exciting because almost everything is route 66 something. there are probably like 500 route 66 dry cleaners.

Time-warped back to the 50’s in Claremont would mean citrus groves. Have a walk over to Wolfe’s Market and ask for Tom. Have him tell you about the family business – it’s now in its fourth generation of ownership.

As for LA, well, I respectively disagree. Finding my way around became easy quickly. I’m a native Ohioan who has now been out here 12+ years. I’ll never go back. This is now my home. I’ve lived in Burbank and Pasadena, and am proud to say I’m now a homeowner within the Los Angeles City Limits, and even more proud to say that I’m living in Northeast Los Angeles (Glassell Park, to be precise).

But having been a transplant I understand where you are coming from. I readily admit that LA is love-it-or-hate-it. Enjoy the Mother Road, and grab the train (Metrolink) into Downtown LA one day. It makes the traffic even more enjoyable.
