we came. we saw. we didn’t quite conquer. but i’m okay with that. alex, my friends holly and phillip and i made the marathon road trip to tampa for the acc championship game. technically it wasn’t a marathon but getting down there felt like it.
we ate a really yummy seafood restaurant on the Tampa Bay called The Colonnade. twin namesakes to an old Atlanta favorite that’s been featured on the food network. alex tried out the fried gator and i had a seafood platter with oysters, shrimp, and scallops. they had the most amazingly addictive pumpkin muffins.
we tailgated for a good while in freezing weather. i thought florida was supposed to be warm people?! i did not bring my winter jacket because i didn’t think tampa was going to be colder than my trip to michigan earlier in the week. oh naïve kate. holly was kind enough to let me share her second jacket as a leg warmer and we survived.

please excuse the not so flattering pictures but 10 or so rounds of flip cup tends to be a detriment to photography skills.
