here’s a quick run-down of what’s been going on:
new year’s eve was perhaps the most low-key yet. i haven’t talked to anyone this year that had wild and crazy plans. is this a sign of economic times or the ever approaching age of 30? maybe a little of both. i wanted to do anything but travel, so we traipsed across the street to one of our neighbors house. good people, good times. i feel guilty going over to anyones house empty-handed so i scrounged around for something to bring. we had a few leftovers and basil leaves from my lasagna night a couple of weeks ago. i made mini caprese skewers and they were totally yummy.
easiest appetizer ever. mozzarella, tomato, basil, balsamic vinaigrette. here’s all the ingredients
this balsamic is perfect for caprese, it’s really thick and stayed on the tomatoes. on to the finished product. it sort of resembles strawberry, marshmallow, and chocolate, huh? that would be delish as well.
over at the numbers we just chatted and watched dick clark’s rockin’ new years eve. i was excited that dick clark made such a big recovery but it still makes me really sad to watch him struggle.
we’ve hung the gorgeous oyster plates i received on christmas from my family (thanks everyone i love them lots) and now it looks like i have a real collection.
the corners are the newest additions. in addition to a few little storage pieces we’ve put up, it’s been all about figuring out what to do with all the holiday stuff. what can go in the attic, what can’t. which is absolutely confusing. there are no directions for this and i think someone should take this on.
