musings from the airport

21 Jan

i’m writing this from the fabulous detroit airport. and i’m not even sarcastic. well, not really. the detroit airport is surprisingly new and enjoyable.

it always amazes me what people are willing to talk about on a cell phone in the airport. i just heard a lady spend 45 minutes discussing where an injured family member should live after he gets home from rehab in june.

on my right is a fella chatting on his blackberry while smacking his gum. i guess that’s really not a privacy invasion it just grosses me out.

this morning as i was patiently waiting to use the hotel printer, a sales rep was wheeling and dealing internally with a MAJOR energy company. i heard them talk $ and %.

my personal favorite was on the way to michigan i heard what i’m pretty sure was a breakup conversation. yikes.

i love my cell phone just as much as the next girl, but seriously? what happened to a little privacy?

ps – for those of you with bluetooth/wireless headsets: please do not look at me like an idiot when i say “pardon” or “what” because i don’t realize you’re talking on your phone. thanks!

You go, girl…I have done that a dozen times and they always turn and act like I am a true space cadet! And people talking while the checkout girl is ringing them up…just rude, rude, rude. What do they think the checkout girl feels like when she is treated like she is not worthy of your attention?

Tis a shame people can be as perfect as….hmmm.
