when my mom and niece arrived into town we got right to the important stuff — dinner. i made audrey a little treat to get her excited about the aquarium. if you come see me i promise to make octopus dogs for you, too. 🙂
and we celebrated with birthday cheesecake
brian g this one’s for you, almost as good as birthday pie!
the hubs was so sweet and thoughtful and brought me breakfast in bed for my birthday. how many girls wake up to foie gras and caviar? (i know a lot of you may not want to wake up this way but it’s a little decadence i love)
mom, audrey, alex and i lazily got ready for the day and made our way to the aquarium in the afternoon. here’s a great pic of audrey, mom, and alex getting ready to watch the 3-d show.
and i couldn’t resist capturing this photo of my FAVE food ever. i know aquariums are supposed to be about conservation but they were huge and i could just imagine how delicious they would be with a nice side of clarified butter.
but instead of crab leges we ordered pizza and went to bed early.
top five signs you’re getting “old” on your birthday:
- you wake up feeling exactly the same you did the day before
- you are looking forward to going to bed early
- party? eh, i’d just like a cupcake
- your 5 year old niece is more excited than you that it’s your birthday
- you decide you want crown molding (instead of new shoes)
ps – alex did get me a funny gift as well. i LOVE bon qui qui. anytime i don’t like something alex says i promise to “cut him.” only kidding. on the actually cutting him part. i’m the proud owner of this t:
and if you’ve never seen bon qui qui in action please check her out:
